Nell Fisher Age: How Old Is the Stranger Things Star?
Nell Fisher is 14 years old in 2026 — and the "Nell Fisher age" question has surged because the British-New Zealand teen stole the show as Holly Wheeler in the fifth and final season of Netflix's Stranger Things.
Born on November 2, 2011, in London, Fisher was just 11 when she landed the biggest role of her young career — and 12 for most of the Stranger Things 5 shoot. The Duffer brothers recast the role of Holly Wheeler, Mike and Nancy's little sister, giving the character a vastly expanded, pivotal storyline in the final season after four seasons in which the part was played by toddler twins. Fisher's performance in Volume 1, released in November 2025, earned praise from fans and critics who had no idea the quiet British teen could command scenes opposite Vecna-level stakes.
But Stranger Things was not her first brush with horror. Fisher was already known to genre fans as Kassie in 2023's Evil Dead Rise — a role she filmed at an age when she was technically too young to watch the finished movie in theaters.

How Old Is Nell Fisher Exactly?
Nell Fisher was born on November 2, 2011. As of October 14, 2026, she is 14 years old and will turn 15 on November 2, 2026 — just weeks away.
Her age has been a moving target in coverage because of the long Stranger Things production timeline. She told interviewers she had "just turned 11" when she booked the role of Holly Wheeler, but filming did not begin until January 2024, when she was 12. By the time Volume 1 premiered in November 2025, she was 14 — the age widely reported by outlets including Capital FM, Parade, and Grazia. The Duffers have joked that they expected a small, cute blonde child and instead watched their Holly shoot up several inches before cameras rolled.
Early Life and Background
Fisher was born in London, England, and describes herself as "Kiwi through and through" — her mother is British and her father is from New Zealand. She spent roughly four and a half years of her childhood in New Zealand, where her acting career began in Wellington, before the family's ties pulled between both countries. Despite playing an all-American Hawkins kid with a convincing U.S. accent, she speaks with a British accent in real life.
Acting came early. Fisher made her on-screen debut in the New Zealand-made film Northspur at just 11 years old. Horror fans then met her as Kassie in Evil Dead Rise (2023), the fifth installment of the Evil Dead franchise, where she held her own in one of the genre's most intense recent entries — so intense that producers arranged a slightly edited private screening for her, since she was too young to see the theatrical cut. She followed that with the 2024 comedy Bookworm opposite Elijah Wood and a role in the Australian series My Life Is Murder.
Stranger Things 5: The Holly Wheeler Recast
For the first four seasons of Stranger Things, Holly Wheeler — the youngest Wheeler sibling, trailing Nancy and Mike — was a background presence played by identical twins Tinsley and Anniston Price. She toddled through Christmas-light scenes and little else.
That changed completely in Season 5. The Duffer brothers decided Holly would become central to the final season's mythology, and the role required a trained young actor rather than toddlers. "Once you see the full season, you'll have a better understanding of why it was so important to add her to the cast," co-creator Matt Duffer told SFX magazine. Producer Shawn Levy added that the production needed someone at "that innocent, defining age" the original kid cast had been when the show began.
Fisher was the answer. Her Holly evolved, in her own words to Netflix's Tudum, from the periphery to a protagonist: "Holly's been important but on the periphery, and this season, Holly becomes a protagonist. Things start happening to her, and she starts getting things done." Volume 1's four episodes, released November 26, 2025, positioned her at the heart of the Upside Down's endgame — a structural echo of Will Byers' Season 1 disappearance, with childhood vulnerability once again driving the story.
What's Next
With Stranger Things concluded, Fisher — still only 14 — is one of the most in-demand young actresses in the industry. Her horror credentials (Evil Dead Rise), comedy work (Bookworm), and proven ability to anchor a global franchise's final season give her a résumé most actors twice her age would envy. Casting directors now know her as the rare child performer who can handle both supernatural terror and emotional family drama.
She joins a lineage of young stars who broke out as teens on defining shows — a path walked by Millie Bobby Brown, whose own Stranger Things journey began at a similar age, and Jenna Ortega, who converted a youth-horror breakout into full-fledged stardom. Like Sydney Sweeney and Timothée Chalamet, Fisher now faces the classic next step: choosing the roles that turn a breakout into a career.
